KPK UNCOVERS FISCAL ANOMALIES IN NTB

MATARAM, Indonesia — Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has uncovered widespread fiscal irregularities across West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial management systems, citing anomalies in legislative constituent funds (pokir), dual grant allocations, and systemic vulnerabilities within public procurement frameworks.

The findings, presented during a governance prevention audit in Mataram, highlight structural risks that threaten budget integrity and provincial fiscal management across multiple regional government departments.

The KPK audit identified three primary structural vulnerabilities:

  • Legislative Pokir Anomalies: Misalignment between constituent program proposals and provincial development priorities, alongside inflated budget caps.
  • Dual Grant Allocations: Overlapping social grant payouts (hibah ganda) awarded to duplicate recipient organizations across consecutive budget cycles.
  • Procurement Vulnerabilities: Inadequate oversight in goods and services procurement (pengadaan barang dan jasa), creating risks of contract splitting and vendor collusion.

Provincial administrative officials affirmed their commitment to implementing KPK recommendations, pledging to digitize procurement tracking and enforce stricter verification protocols across all legislative fund submissions.
