In a display of rapid fiscal mobilization, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has officially greenlit the disbursement of IDR 268 billion in immediate emergency relief for disaster-stricken provinces in Sumatra. This move, executed in the final 48 hours of the 2025 fiscal year, signals the “Kabinet Merah Putih’s” commitment to “Bureaucratic De-bottlenecking”—ensuring that administrative hurdles do not impede humanitarian recovery.
Beyond the immediate relief, the Ministry of Finance has confirmed a significant “Liquidity Buffer” of IDR 1.51 trillion in ready-to-use funds (Dana Siap Pakai). This transparency regarding the national contingency fund aims to stabilize market confidence and reassure international stakeholders of Indonesia’s fiscal resilience against increasing climate-induced volatilities.
Minister Purbaya’s ultimatum to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to “accelerate administration or risk delays” marks a shift towards a Result-Oriented Governance model. By guaranteeing immediate funding for housing reconstruction (Huntara/Huntap), the Indonesian government is positioning its disaster response not just as a social obligation, but as a critical component of national economic stability and rural infrastructure continuity.
