WEST LOMBOK, Indonesia — West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal outlined a series of institutional support measures for community health posts (Posyandu) on Tuesday, positioning frontline health workers as the primary defense in regional healthcare delivery.
Speaking alongside NTB Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) Chairperson Sinta Agathia M. Iqbal during an official visit to the Wana Tirta Posyandu in Sesaot Village, West Lombok, the governor emphasized the critical role of local health volunteers in managing baseline community wellness and tracking early childhood growth metrics.
To address equipment degradation and operational constraints across rural health centers, the NTB provincial government introduced a four-part capacity extension framework:
- Equipment Provision: Gradual distribution of standardized medical diagnostic kits, including digital scales and height measuring devices, to ensure precision in child development data.
- Skills Enhancement: Structured training modules focused on reinforcing compliance with six Minimum Service Standards (SPM) for community health workers.
- Operational Funding: Integration of volunteer support stipends into the upcoming Transformative Empowered Village Program set to launch in 2027.
- Digital Mapping: Deployment of a digital infrastructure registry by TP PKK NTB to track facility readiness and allocate targeted capital assistance.
Regional officials affirmed that continuous monitoring and structural funding remain vital to maintaining early healthcare access across NTB’s rural communities.
