EAST LOMBOK, Indonesia — West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has reinforced its standing in international seafood markets as local processing firm PT High Point Fisheries (HPF), based in Labuhan Lombok, executed its latest export shipment of processed yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) directly to the United States.
The shipment highlights the province’s strategic shift from exporting raw, unprocessed fish to high-value, fully processed seafood products designed for premium global retail channels.
Official trade data through September 21, 2026, details key milestones achieved by the Labuhan Lombok processing facility:
- Export Volume & Valuation: A total of 18 shipping containers holding over 355 metric tons of processed yellowfin tuna have been shipped to the U.S. in 2026, valued at over 43.4 billion rupiahs ($2.77 million).
- International Certification: Processing operations adhere to stringent global food safety and quality standards, including BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, HACCP, and Fish Processing Certificates (SKP).
- Sustainability & Traceability: Raw tuna stock is sourced through fully traceable supply chains supporting environmentally responsible and sustainable fishing practices.
- Local Economic Impact: Processing plant operations directly employ over 80 local workers, boosting employment and economic growth in East Lombok Regency.
