LOMBOK TENGAH — West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal emphasized that the post-fire reconstruction of Sade Traditional Village in Lombok Tengah Regency must not merely chase physical development or be rushed for tourism agendas.
Iqbal conveyed the message while directly inspecting the site on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. According to him, Sade is not just a collection of residential structures, but a historical site and a living space that embodies the architecture and cultural identity of the Sasak people.
”Do not let Sade lose its Sade,” stated the Governor, who is familiarly known as Miq Iqbal.
Iqbal assured that the restoration of the area will position the indigenous community as the primary subject, with the government present to facilitate and assist. Sade Traditional Village will be rebuilt as close to its original form as possible, integrated with improved disaster mitigation systems such as the installation of fire hydrants, portable fire extinguishers, and adequate road access.
