CENTRAL LOMBOK, Indonesia — The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial government and local authorities are accelerating plans to establish the Sade Cultural Museum in Sade Traditional Village, Central Lombok, aiming to document, preserve, and showcase the historical and cultural heritage of the indigenous Sasak people.
The institutional development forms a key component of broader restoration and cultural preservation efforts following recent recovery initiatives in the historical hamlet.
The creation of the Sade Cultural Museum will focus on several core heritage objectives:
- Historical Documentation: Archiving traditional Sasak architectural methods, ancient weaving traditions, and local historical artifacts.
- Community-Centrally Managed: Integrating local indigenous elders and village residents in curation and storytelling to preserve cultural authenticity.
- Heritage Tourism Enhancement: Strengthening Sade’s position as a premier cultural tourism hub alongside international events across Central Lombok.
