NTB ASSURES READINESS FOR MOTOGP MANDALIKA 2026

CENTRAL LOMBOK, Indonesia — The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) provincial government, alongside InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), conducted a joint track inspection at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit on Thursday, September 17, 2026, to finalize operational readiness ahead of the upcoming Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026.

The site inspection, held as part of a multi-stakeholder coordination forum, evaluated key operational areas including track infrastructure, transport logistics, emergency health services, security protocols, accommodation capacity, and local community engagement.

Circuit maintenance and technical upgrades are advancing toward final FIM Grade A homologation, scheduled for October 8, 2026. Current engineering and infrastructure progress includes:

  • Civil Works & Infrastructure: Civil engineering tasks have reached 90 percent completion, while backbone network integration is at 80 percent.
  • Track & Electronic Systems: Circuit track repainting and race electronic systems have both progressed to 60 percent.
  • Local Workforce & MSMEs: Approximately 3,000 local workers—including 2,200 local volunteers—and 213 regional MSMEs are integrated into event operations.
  • Tourism Occupancy: Hotel and accommodation booking rates across NTB have approached 100 percent capacity ahead of race week.

NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal reiterated that the 2026 edition aims to surpass previous events by maximizing economic returns for local residents, while InJourney President Director Maya Watono highlighted the event’s strategic role in establishing The Mandalika as a premier global sport tourism hub.
