MATARAM — The Provincial Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) continues to expand its tourism promotion to the global stage. Governor of NTB, H. Lalu Muhamad Iqbal (Miq Iqbal), warmly received a delegation of media representatives, influencers, and travel agents from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Mataram, Thursday (10/15/2026).
During the meeting, the NTB Provincial Government reaffirmed its commitment to tapping into the Quality Tourism market segment. This tourism model prioritizes authentic experiences, longer stays (length of stay), and family-friendly facilities that align perfectly with the preferences of travelers from the Gulf region.
To support premium destination connectivity, NTB is preparing to operate Indonesia’s first regular seaplane service by late 2026. This amphibious aircraft is designed to land directly on water at flagship destinations such as Gili Trawangan and Moyo Island. In addition to tourism, Governor Miq Iqbal opened investment opportunities in Renewable Energy (EBT), capitalizing on NTB’s high solar radiation levels to supply clean energy for the regional green tourism ecosystem alongside Bali and NTT.
