NORTH LOMBOK – The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Government has acted swiftly in response to public complaints regarding suspected marine pollution in the Sambik Elen waters, North Lombok Regency. Following up on the reports, NTB Governor H. Lalu Muhamad Iqbal directly instructed the Head of the NTB Environment and Forestry Agency (DLHK) and the NTB Marine Affairs and Fisheries Agency (DKP) to take immediate action in the field.
The firm directive was issued by the Governor after the 81st Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony on Monday (17/8/2026). Starting Tuesday (18/8/2026), a joint team is scheduled to conduct an objective verification focusing on four key areas.

Spokesperson for the NTB Provincial Government, Dr. H. Ahsanul Khalik, emphasized that the regional government will not rush to premature conclusions. However, strict sanctions and measures will be immediately enforced should environmental violations be proven.
