KDKMP Drives Extreme Poverty Graduation in 40 Transformative Empowered Villages

MATARAM – The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Government continues to strengthen real synergies for the community through the Transformative Empowered Village (Desa Berdaya Transformatif) program, now partnering with the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative (Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih or KDKMP).

At the NTB Cooperatives and SMEs Training Center on Tuesday (18/8/2026), the NTB Provincial Government officially launched a KDKMP-based extreme poverty graduation model targeting 5,162 Beneficiary Families (Keluarga Penerima Manfaat or KPM) across 40 villages. Through this scheme, beneficiaries transition from passive aid recipients into active, productive economic actors.

NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal emphasized that the cooperative must serve as a vital bridge connecting local producers to market opportunities, particularly by taking advantage of supplying agricultural commodities for the national Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis) initiative in their respective areas.

”Potential exists everywhere; KDKMP must connect producers with their markets. The best decision is to start doing business while learning, and ensure prudent financial tracking,” Governor Iqbal stated.
